I love the old
hymns. I find that in my quiet times of prayer and worship, I gravitate to
those songs. Lately, there’s been one specific hymn on my lips: I Need Thee.
Those three
words really say it all.
I NEED Thee.
Bad things
happen. They happen, and they happen throughout life.
But…it’s good to cry with hope in the Lord. It’s good to hide in His shadow, knowing He
is that close. It’s good to know that
as I cling to Him, His right hand upholds me.
It’s good to KNOW the Lord.
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.
I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.
I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
